Yutoku Inari Shrine
Yutoku Inari Shrine in Kashima, Saga, is one of Japan's Three Great Inari Shrines, dedicated to Ukanomitama, the Inari deity of food and agriculture. Founded in 1687, the shrine is distinguished by its dramatic hillside main hall — a stilt-supported structure (kakurozukuri) built on the slope of a hillside, reminiscent of the famous Kiyomizudera in Kyoto. The colorful vermilion buildings ascending the hill make it one of the most visually striking shrine complexes in Kyushu.
The main hall is built on stilts (kake-zukuri) like Kyoto's Kiyomizu-dera, offering dramatic views.
