Takekoma Inari Shrine
Takekoma Inari Shrine in Iwanuma, Miyagi, is one of Japan's Three Great Inari Shrines, founded in 842. It enshrines three deities — Ukanomitama, Uka-no-Kami, and Wakumusubi-no-Kami — collectively venerated as 'Takekoma Inari-O-no-Kami,' guardians of the fundamental necessities of human life: food, clothing, and shelter. Approximately 1.5 million visitors worship here annually, drawn by blessings for commerce, agriculture, and everyday welfare.
The shrine claims to be the second-oldest Inari shrine in Japan after Fushimi Inari Taisha.
