Shiwa Inari Shrine
志和稲荷神社
Taikodani Inari Shrine
Set on a hillside above the picturesque castle town of Tsuwano, this shrine is reached via a tunnel of approximately 1,000 vermilion torii gates. It is counted among the Five Great Inari Shrines of Japan and the only Inari shrine that writes its name with the kanji for 'success' (成) rather than the usual 'prosperity' (荷).
The only Inari shrine in Japan that uses the character 成 (accomplishment) instead of 荷 (cargo) in its name.
