ภาพรวม
Owari Okunitama Shrine (尾張大國霊神社), also known as Konomiyanomiya or Konomiya, in Inazawa City, Aichi Prefecture, served as the soja — the consolidated provincial shrine — of Owari Province during the Nara period. It principally enshrines the collective tutelary spirit of the Owari land, identified with Okuninushi. The shrine is nationally renowned for its Hadaka Matsuri (Naked Festival), held on the third day of the first lunar month, in which thousands of men in loincloths compete to touch a designated shin-otoko (sacred man) to transfer their misfortune — one of Japan's most famous and unusual festivals with a tradition over 1,300 years old.
