Mitsumine Shrine
Perched at 1,100 meters atop Mount Mitsumine in the Chichibu mountains, this remote shrine is one of Kanto's most powerful 'power spots.' Its unique feature is the worship of wolves as divine messengers instead of the usual foxes or dogs. The rare triple torii gate (mitsu-torii) at the entrance is found at very few shrines in Japan.
The shrine's wolf amulets are so popular that the first-of-the-month white 'Shirokiomamori' charm was discontinued due to overwhelming traffic jams on the mountain roads.
