The ichinomiya of Higo Province, situated within the massive Aso Caldera — one of the world's largest volcanic calderas. The shrine enshrines twelve deities, led by Takeiwatatsu-no-Mikoto, a grandson of Emperor Jimmu. After severe damage in the 2016 Kumamoto Earthquake, the iconic romon gate was fully restored in 2023.
