Komagata Okami (駒形大神) is the divine spirit of Komagata Mountain in the Hayachine range of Iwate Prefecture. 'Koma' means horse, and the deity has ancient associations with horse breeding and equestrian culture in the Tohoku region. Komagata Jinja in Oshu City (Iwate) is the main shrine. The deity may be identified with Watatsumi or another sea/mountain deity in different traditions.
