About
A young sun goddess associated with the dawn light and sacred weaving. In the Nihon Shoki, Wakahirume was weaving heavenly garments when Susanoo's violent rampage caused her to injure herself fatally on her shuttle. Her death deeply distressed Amaterasu, contributing to the sun goddess retreating into the rock cave.
