Ōhiko no Mikoto is a legendary prince sent by Emperor Sujin (10th emperor) as one of the 'Four General Commanders' (Shidoshogun) to pacify the outlying regions. He was dispatched to the Hokuriku (northern Sea of Japan coast) and Tosando regions. He is considered the ancestor of many northern warrior clans. He encountered a mysterious girl singing an ominous prophetic song on the road, which he reported to the emperor—the song foretold rebellion.
