The deity of the Hotaka mountains (Northern Japan Alps) enshrined at Hotaka Jinja in Azumino. A son of Watatsumi (sea deity), Hotaka Mi is venerated as the ancestor of the Azumi seafaring clan who migrated inland to settle the Nagano basin.
