About

Amenofutotama no Mikoto is the deity who organized and directed the ritual offerings and divinations used to lure Amaterasu out of the Heavenly Rock Cave. He prepared the sacred jewels, mirror, and ritual items while Amenokoyanе intoned prayers. He is the ancestor of the Imbe clan, the ancient hereditary ritualists who were rivals and complements to the Nakatomi clan. Enshrined at Futotama Jinja and Awa Shrine (Tokushima).
